Dr Sally Curtis has been elected for a four-year term to the Medical Schools Council Selection Alliance (MSCSA) board.

Sally Curtis brings a wealth of experience to the role having taught on the BM6 widening access programme since 2002 and been Programme Leader since 2012.

The Medical Schools Council’s Selecting for Excellence Executive Group Final Report 2013 recommended that the MSC Selection Alliance should be established to address the Final Report’s recommendations and subsequent implementation of widening access to medicine initiatives.

The MSC Selection Alliance comprises 2 representatives from each medical school in the UK and the board, which is elected from MSCSA members, will form an oversight group to monitor progress and drive the development of policy around selection and widening participation to Medical Schools.

Continuing the work of the Selecting for Excellence Executive Group is important to the continued quality of the medical profession. The Selecting for Excellence Executive Group Final Report 2013 can be found here.
