The use of near-peer teaching (NPT) in medical education is on the rise and in the last few years the University of Southampton has successfully introduced two NPT anatomy programmes.

On the strength of this experience, Scott Border, along with a number of student co-authors, has recently published an article entitled ‘Ten considerations for implementing effective and sustainable near-peer teaching in clinical anatomy education’.

The article, as the title implies, addresses a number of very practical considerations and suggests how to make the most of NPT in medical education. The full text can be read here https://www.mededpublish.org/manuscripts/1011/v1.
