The Faculty is delighted to have been nominated for two Health Education England’s National Widening Participation Awards this year.

WAMSoc, our student led Widening Access to Medicine Society, has been shortlisted for the Widening Participation Health Ambassador/Mentor of the Year Award and Sally Curtis, from Medical Education, has been shortlisted for the Widening Participation Research and Evaluation Award.

These national awards recognise examples of outstanding widening participation partnerships, research and initiatives and are a great acknowledgement of the excellent work and innovative approaches to widening participation undertaken by students and staff in the Faculty.

The award ceremony will take place on the 27th June at the Palace of Westminster and Sally will be joined by Jahangir Alom, WAMSoc’s previous President, and the new President, Katie Peetham-Baran. We wish them all well.
