Students love YouTube, but does using it have a positive impact on their knowledge?
The recent literature suggests that YouTube is the first port of call for many medical students when they don’t fully understand something in anatomy.
Many educational channels now exist providing screen cast tutorials and narrated lectures. In his recent book chapter for the Biomedical Visualisation book series, Dr Scott Border assesses the role of video use in anatomy education. He critically reflects on the pedagogy, instructional design, classroom applications and benefits of peer produced resources.
Biomedical Visualisation Volume 4, focuses on innovative tools and technologies for digital bioscience education and is available here: https://www.springer.com/gp/book/9783030242800
