Event details

This Education Research Forum will bring together current education research into medical school assessment. It may also be of particular interest to colleagues in other healthcare professions.

Dr Blythe will discuss his experience of running high stakes exams and setting pass marks. He will describe his own attempts to compare passing standards between medical schools and will present an overview of the national initiatives that will effect all medical schools.

Dr McManus will share his research into two different forms of assessments currently in use at Southampton: Objective Structured Clinical Exams (OSCEs), which are used in finals and the Mini-CEX, which is an essentially formative work place based assessment.

The venue is open access. Please let us know if you are planning to attend (as per below).
