Event details

On April 9th 2016 the Centre for Learning Anatomical Sciences is hosting the 4th Undergraduate Neuroanatomy Competition sponsored by the Anatomical Society.

The 4th National Undergraduate Neuroanatomy Competition will take place at Southampton General Hospital on Saturday 9th April 2016. Once again we will welcome over 100 medical students from across the country to compete for what is fast becoming a very prestigious prize.

As always members of staff from The Faculty and wider University are very welcome to attend talks from our guest speakers.

This year we welcome special guest Professor D. Ceri Davies, former president of the Anatomical Society of Great Britain & Ireland and Professor of Anatomy at the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London. He will be talking about how the development of neuroanatomical techniques has facilitated the development of neuroanatomical knowledge.

We also welcome Southampton’s very own Dr Roxanna Carare, Associate Professor of Clinical Anatomy who will be talking about her own research in understanding the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease.

The talks will begin at 14:00 in lecture theatre 2, and we shall be serving cheese and wine during the interval.
