About the PMC courses

We request a non-refundable deposit of £15 to attend any Staff (Faculty) Development for Primary Medical care. You will be directed to the University of Southampton online store where you will need to pay the deposit.

Should the Faculty deem your course application inappropriate for your level of expertise, then the deposit will also be refunded prior to your attendance and you will be notified accordingly. 

New Primary Care Teachers Workshop

Aim:

To increase the participants’ confidence, enthusiasm and skills in teaching undergraduate medical students.

At the end of this workshop participants will:

• Have a clearer idea of the aims and learning outcomes of primary medical care and how this fits into the overall medical curriculum
• Reflected on ways in which they can help the students learn
• Considered ways of giving feedback to students
• Have had the opportunity to meet with the coordinators and colleagues from other practices to exchange ideas and share good practice

The General Medical Council (GMC) requires that we keep information about our Southampton undergraduate medical student teachers and assessors. By applying to utilise our training resources, and/or as someone undertaking the GMC recognition process, you understand that you fall within one of these groups. Therefore, we are required to keep records of certain elements of your data and any training that you undertake with us to meet our statutory obligation to the GMC.
