Adam Fox Diploma in Allergy

I chose to study at Southampton because it has such a strong reputation in the field of allergy and a well-established, flexible course that I could fit into my fulltime work schedule as a paediatric specialist trainee.

There is a high level of expertise amongst the lectures and I was truly looked after by the course leaders. I really enjoyed the opportunity to discuss academic aspects of the course with the tutors, as well as meeting other interested doctors/nurses who came from a wide variety of backgrounds.

Completing this diploma was a part of my decision to train as a paediatric allergist, and allowed me to give a clear signal of my interest in this field when I was interviewed and appointed to the paediatric allergy trainee programme.

The solid grounding I gained from the course in the immunology and clinical aspects of allergy has definitely helped my career and I would recommend it to other students because of the unrivalled support from course leaders – and of course the excellent networking opportunities with other students!
