Stephanie Hughes is Senior Research Assistant and Postgraduate student within Medicine at the University of Southampton.
BSc Psychology, Kingston University, 2007.
MSc Health Psychology, University of Sussex, 2009.
After completing her undergraduate degree at Kingston University and masters degree at The University of Sussex, Stephanie has worked as a senior research assistant on a multitude of projects within Psychology and PCPS at The University of Southampton, before starting her PhD in October 2015.
Stephanie is working towards her PhD titled 'SO ACTIVE: Exploring Significant Other experiences of undergoing ACTIVE surveillance for prostate cancer’. This project will focus on the significant others of the men undergoing active surveillance for prostate cancer. This may be their wife, husband, partner, close relative or friend. Significant others will be asked to complete questionnaires and take part in telephone interviews to explore their attitudes to, and beliefs about, AS and how their responses and approach to this condition may impact on the prostate cancer patients themselves.
Stephanie also works as a Senior Research Assistant on the Empathica Trial (Expectation Management for Patients in Primary Care: Developing and Feasibility Testing a New Digital Intervention for Practitioners) and the SupportBack 2 trial (supporting self-management of low back pain with an internet intervention).
Stephanie is the PhD Representative for PCPS.
