Dr Siobhán Lynch is Senior Teaching Fellow within Medicine at the University of Southampton.

Qualifications

Siobhán completed her BSc in Psychology with the Open University in 2004, followed closely by an MSc in Clinical Psychology and Health with Research Methods at the University of Wales, Bangor, in 2006. Following on from this she completed a PhD in Mindfulness in Higher Education at the University of Northampton in 2011.

Appointments held

From 2006 – 2009 Siobhán worked as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Northampton. From 2009 -2014 she worked as a Teaching Fellow and researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, King’s College London, running a SSC in Psychiatry Research for 3rd and 4th year medical students and conducting educational research. She has also worked as an Associate Lecturer with the Open University since 2009, teaching psychology at stage 1 and 2.

Research interests

Research wise, Siobhán’s primary interest lies in the intersection between student well-being, learning and teaching, technology and mindfulness. She also has broader educational research interests, such as the student experience, the use of feedback as dialogue, technology enhanced learning, professionalism in medical education and the teaching-research nexus.
