Dr Zubeyde Bayram-Weston

Zubeyde has joined CLAS as a Teaching Fellow at October 2015.  She joins us from The Cardiff University Brain Repair Group where she worked as a Research Associate for 4 years after having gained her PhD in Neuroscience.  

Her PhD focused on longitudinal characterisation of the emergence of cellular and subcellular pathology in novel genetic animal models of Huntington’s disease (HD). Following her PhD Zubeyde continued her research in HD and presented her research at many International conferences.  

Zubeyde teaches a number of modules covering, Foundation of Medicine, Cardiovascular, Respirator, Renal, Nerves and Locomotor (NLM1) and Student Selective Unit (SSU) anatomy at Southampton. Zubeyde has also demonstrated Neuroanatomy to Neuroscience Students, was involved in delivering a C21/Platform for Clinical Science (PCS) for Medic Y1, Case Based Learning (CBL) for Medic Y2 and has taken part various public engagement activities.

Prior to this Zubeyde obtained a Biology BSc and teaching BSc from Firat University (Turkey) and an MSc in Histology and Embryology at Akdeniz University (Turkey).
