Policy Advisors

Our expert advisors have been instrumental in shaping global health policy through bodies such as the World Health Organisation, the Medical Research Council, the UK Government and the National Institute for Health Research.

Senior academics from Medicine are called upon to share their advice and experience on a range of subjects before decisions are made on future health policy or treatment strategies.  One example has been their recent involvement in delaying prescribing strategies for a range of infections. This has led to reduced antibiotic use in the UK and a lower risk of antibiotic resistance. The policy has now been incorporated into national and international guidelines.
