In Medicine we play a significant part in the University of Southampton's global reputation for research excellence.
We have a long history of research collaborations with companies around the world and have worked together on innovations that have changed and shaped the future of global health. These collaborations can be short or long-term and can give external organisations the chance to tap into funding not normally available.
Medicine has been instrumental in helping medical training company Biocompatibles when it was looking for expert help in evaluating a new product. Our experience was invaluable in analysing their new innovative fluorescent cell stain product.
Another example of such work is the creation of Kaurus Therapeutics as a result of collaboration between Medicine and Cancer Research UK.
