Doctor Christopher Torrens wins toy neurone ‘Brainy’!

Doctor Christopher Torrens, Senior Lecturer in Physiology here at Southampton has won a physiology-based poetry competition and was awarded a toy neurone called brainy as his prize for best poem!
The competition was run by the Physiological Society to celebrate Biology week and in particular Physiology Friday (18 Oct 2013) as part of their broader outreach and education scope. The challenge was that all members of the Society had to submit their physiologically based rhymes on Twitter and so entrants were limited to 140 characters. After a week or so and numerous entries (including several by Dr Torrens) he was chosen by the Physoc staff and council as the winner.
