Postgraduate research student awarded prize for ‘Best Presenter’ at The Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable

Philip Alexander, Postgraduate Research Student, and Clinical Fellow, Vitreoretinal Surgery, University Hospital Southampton won the award for best presenter at the recent OBR Consulting Competition.
The Oxbridge Biotech Roundtable (OBR) is an organisation that facilitates on-campus conversation between academia and industry. This year OBR held their inaugural Consulting Competition, and of 40 teams that applied, the team from Southampton were one of 8 teams selected for the final competition round, which was held at the Manchester Business School on 29 March.
The team of 4 postgraduate research students consisted of two from Life Sciences - James Beggs & Matthew Rodrigues - and two from the Faculty of Medicine - Joanna Gould and Philip Alexander.
The team were highly commended for their analysis on the best strategy for a large pharmaceutical company investing in novel diabetes drugs. Although they didn’t win the overall competition, Dr Philip Alexander (pictured) was awarded the prize for "Best Presenter".
