Award for quality teaching and training

A Faculty researcher has been celebrated for excelling in education and training in paediatric infectious diseases.

Dr Chrissie Jones, Associate Professor and Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Infectious Diseases, received the Distinguished award for Education and the recent European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases congress.

The award aims to recognise those who have achieved success in undergraduate and/or postgraduate education and developing and implementing new teaching courses and methods.

Dr Jones said: "I am honoured to receive the Distinguished Award for Education 2022 from the European Society for Paediatric Infectious Diseases at the congress in Athens. Over the last six years, I have led multiple educational initiatives for trainees, including online courses, case rounds, journal club, workshops and spearheaded a new online educational platform.”
