Event details
An Inaugural Lecture by Professor Keith Palmer. Wednesday 10th April 2013. Lecture Theatre 2, Level B South Academic Block. 5.15pm - 6.15pm, followed by wine and canapes
Professor Keith Palmer holds an Honorary Chair in Occupational Medicine, the medical discipline concerned with the inter-relation of health and work. Over the discipline’s long history, many of industry’s worst health risks have been eliminated. Increasingly, however, new and more puzzling epidemics of work-attributed ill-health have surfaced and replaced the old ones. This inaugural lecture will focus on research offering insight into these modern epidemics, the new hazards of working, and options for control and prevention.
