Have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes at your local hospital? If so, come along to this year's open day. You can explore the science behind the research that takes place here everyday, and find out more about our hospital superheroes who make this all happen.
Activities will be running from 11am to 3pm, and there is something for everyone. You might find yourself on a tour of the mortuary, or walking through the giant inflatable colon. The LifeLab will be open, letting you try out some procedures and experiments for yourself. You can visit the helipad, complete with air ambulance, or delve into the world of the University of Southampton researchers. And if this all makes you think about a career at the hospital, head over to the careers centre for information and guidance on the options open to you.
There will be plenty for children to enjoy too. They can visit Taplins childcare for superhero crafts and activities. The teddy bear hospital will also be on hand, offering face painting and the teddy bear clinic.
