Research Centres

The Faculty of Medicine has a successful history of leading ground-breaking research, which has a positive impact on patient treatments and healthcare delivery in the UK and internationally.

From basic cellular science to large population studies, our medical research aims to develop new ways of beating the key health challenges we face today.

There are six major research centres fully integrated within the Faculty and its strategy. The centres host our internationally renowned research groups.

NIHR School for Primary Care Research

Carrying out world-leading research in primary care, providing a focus for primary care research within the NIHR, and supporting the development of primary care research.

There are also three virtual centres to support research across the Faculty.

Centre for Human Development

Centre for Human Development, Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. Translating pioneering developmental and stem cell science for patient benefit.
