Within Medicine we aim to provide all staff and postgraduate students with access to a mentor, who will act as an independent source of career advice and support.
Training is available for both mentors and mentees.
We currently help facilitate four different types of mentoring:
Long term mentoring - where you have a number of meetings with the same mentor over a period of time.
One stop mentoring - if you have a specific need you can select a mentor with experience in that specialist area to meet with once (or more if you wish!)
Mentoring workshops - an informal discussion around a particular topic, e.g. life work balance, with members of staff with experience in this area.
Peer mentoring groups - a chance to explore a common area of interest with a group of like-minded people, for example, giving oral presentations.
