Micah joined SHTAC as a Research Fellow in Healthcare Modelling in February 2015.

Micah’s primary area of expertise has been in projects conducted for the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) single technology appraisal (STA) process. His work in relation to this includes his MSc dissertation evaluating structural uncertainty in a NICE STA model, a review of methodological and parameter consistency in breast cancer utilities used for NICE STAs, an evaluation of Evidence Review Group conduct of exploratory analyses within the STA process, and extensive contribution to an STA of ruxolitinib for myelofibrosis. Beyond this work, Micah has contributed to a systematic review of settings for the delivery of intravenous chemotherapy for the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research programme. Micah’s research interests include health utility measurement, modelling structural uncertainty, and process improvement and health care systems reform.

Micah completed a BA in Political Science with a specialisation in Political Economy from the University of Washington (Seattle, USA) in 2006, and an MSc in Health Economics and Health Policy from the University of Birmingham in 2012 (Distinction).
