The University of Southampton offers so many opportunities. One of many I’ve taken advantage of to enhance my CV is to develop a ‘Teddy bear hospital’ which I took into schools to take away the fear that children may have of going to see the doctor.

Southampton has pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me grow in confidence so I can take on the opportunities and challenges of a long term career in medicine.

Being able to see a triple bypass and a birth has made me appreciate how lucky I am to study here and cemented my passion to follow a career path in paediatric surgery.

I have really enjoyed how the course integrates all the subjects rather than teaching them separately, and the early clinical experience has a real benefit to my learning. But Southampton also offers really good pastoral care and so much else beyond teaching. I’ve loved all of it.
