The Music Focus Group

The University of Southampton 'Bringing Research to Life' 2012 Roadshow kicked off with Science & Engineering Day. Hundreds of people visited the 'Hearing Music' stand with activities inspired by the AHRC funded 'Compositions for Cochlear Implantees' research project and supported by Advanced Bionics, Cochlear, Med-El, Action on Hearing Loss, The Ear Foundation and the South of England Cochlear Implant Centre (SOECIC).

The 'Hearing Music' stand was manned by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic students and staff from Audiology and Music, clinicians from the SOECIC, and Chris White and 'The Head' from Action on Hearing Loss. The stand was rated by visitors as one of the favourite activities of the day!

Feedback from our student volunteers was also very positive:

"It has been a pleasure to be involved in the roadshow and I thoroughly enjoyed it!" Naomi Horner, BSc Audiology Student.
