On Saturday 14th September we ran another music workshop for adult CI users at the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS).
The workshop started with a presentation on the challenges of listening to music through a CI, followed by practical rhythm activities and then a computer-based session using the 'Mixer' and 'Looper' applications from the Interactive Music Awareness Programme (IMAP).
Feedback from the workshop was very positive. Using a scale from 1 (strongly disagree) to 7 (strongly agree), average ratings given by the attendees for the workshop were as follows:
Fun: 6.4
Difficult: 1.8
Interesting: 6.4
Confusing: 1
Useful: 6.5
Boring: 1
All attendees were very keen to attend future music workshops - we have made a note of this and will be planning more soon!
