Microvesicle Research Group Funding

We are very grateful for those who have helped fund our research:

Danone Nutricia has provided funding to research the relationship between microvesicles and allergy in breast milk.

The European Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthesiologists has provided funding to research the relationship between microvesicles and bleeding during cardiac surgery.

The Gerald Kerkut Trust has provided funding to research microvesicles in thrombus formation and dissolution, as well as previous funding to research endothelial microvesicles in cardiac surgery.

The British Heart Foundation has provided funding to research single platelet function using novel microfluidics.

Haemonetics provided funding for TEG measurements of coagulation in our stroke study.

The Wessex Medicial Research Trust provided pump priming funding to develop methods for microvesicle measurement.

HEIF has funded two grants to look at the role of microvesicles in breast milk in collaboration with Nutricia and Next Generation Technology in collaboration with Life Technology.

Research into Ageing funded a fellowship for Nicola Englyst to collect stroke patient samples for measurement of coagulation, inflammation and endothelial cell activation.
