Alessia studied at the University of Pavia (Italy), where she got the master's degree (5 years) in July 2016 in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology with the maximum grade (110/110 cum laude). Thanks to her degree, she have, now, got solid basis in chemistry, biology, microbiology and pharmacology, but she also has knowledge in the area of production, quality control and development of a pharmaceutical company. She has worked as junior researcher for her master's thesis (11 months) in the Development Pharmaceutics laboratory of the Department of Drug Science (University of Pavia)

After the graduation, from September 2016 to January 2017 she worked as junior researcher at the University of Southampton (UK), thanks to the Erasmus Traineeship Program. There, she started a project about nanoparticles and drug delivery systems in the Bioengineerig Laboratory of the department of Bngineering and the Environment.  She has worked on production of polymeric micelles using microfluidic technology.

At the end of her Erasmus traineeship, from February 2017, she started an internship in Quality Assurance in Novartis Farma S.p.A  (Origgio, Italy), a branch of the multinational pharmaceutical company Novartis, which headquarter is based in Basel.
