Stent-on-a-chip: studying encrustation of ureteric stents using microfluidics

Federica obtained her BSc degree (2017) in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Milan, Italy). Her BSc research at the Laboratory of Biological Structure Mechanics (LaBS) was focused on the identification of a numerical method for the characterization of a saphenous vein. This was done under the supervision of Prof Federica Boschetti.

Now, after completing the exams of MSc with specialization in biomechanics and biomaterials, she has the opportunity to complete her career with a thesis at the University of Southampton.

The thesis is on ureteric stent and will be carried out with the supervision of Dr Dario Carugo.
