Carmen Martín de León is a Teaching Fellow in Modern Languages and Linguistics (MLL) at the University of Southampton.
Carmen obtained a MPhil in Philosophy (Universidad Complutense of Madrid) in 2001 and a PGCE in 2002. A year later, she studied in the School of School of Professional Application of the Language Calamo&Cran. S.L (in Spain) to become a teacher fellow of Spanish as a second Language.
Between 2002 and 2012 she worked in the private sector teaching Spanish Language in Spain, USA and UK. In 2012, she joined the University of Southampton and, in July 2015, Carmen obtained the Professional Recognition of Educator Practice Framework (PREP) becoming member of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
Since then she has been written a collection of books (El Mundo de Custodio) and she has been awarded as the second-best teacher (for a project she presented with Cristina García Hermoso) in July 2016, and warded as the best teacher (for a project wit Irina Nelson) in 2018, both in the IV and V Congress: Congreso Internacional del Español en Castilla y León.
