I am a part-time PhD candidate in Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton, investigating the perception and use of English and multilingualism within Southampton.

I am in receipt of the Vice Chancellor's scholarship and my supervisory team are Professor Jennifer Jenkins and Dr Sophie Holmes-Elliott.

I have ten years’ English-teaching experience in the U.K., Russia and South Korea. Alongside my studies, I work for an education trade union.

Research interests

My PhD project is using ethnography to investigate the perception and use of English and multilingualism within Southampton.

My MA research focused on student identity construction through English and implications for the internationalisation agenda within Higher Education.

My publications so far have focused on my teaching interests, which include using technology and social media for language learning.
