Developing contacts in Thailand

Published: 29 April 2013

The faculty of Humanities currently hosts a number of Postgraduate students from Thailand, the majority of which are following programmes in applied linguistics and English language education.

In light of this, a group of 11 lecturers from Silpakorn University, Thailand visited the Department of Modern Languages at Southampton on Monday 22 April. They met with members of staff from Modern Languages, the Centre for Language Study and English.

The group, which comprised of staff from Silpakorn’s Department of English (Faculty of Arts) and included Southampton alumna Dr Sasikarn (Fon) Konsak Future, discussed collaborations in research, teaching and student exchanges.

Silpakorn is one of Thailand’s leading universities in Arts and the Humanities. For more information about the visit contact Will Baker (w.baker@soton.ac.uk).
