Event details

It is with tremendous pleasure that we invite you to our talk to be given by Jonathan Bonfiglio, a writer and independent producer based in Mexico.

The Clipperton Project is an international initiative based in Mexico, focusing on expeditions to remote territories that have experienced a complicated and controversial history. In Crisis, Aspiration and The Clipperton Project Director Jon Bonfiglio traces the beginnings of the project in a global context of enhanced international rhetoric about collaborative needs and intent, but which often continues to evidence the reverse. With particular reference to Mexico in 2012, just prior to a national election and having experienced some of the most difficult years in its history, the paper will seek to place both the project and in particular the country in a broader historical, social and political context, and to examine its current predicament outside of the eye of the media.

Please see the outline of Jonathan's talk below, and also see the wonderful  promotional video for the project please follow the link.

All welcome!
