Routes into Languages brings together universities, schools and colleges, to enthuse and encourage people to study languages. With a focus on international mobility, Routes into Languages has organized a variety of projects and activities, from cultural events and revision days to e-mentoring and tutoring.
The programme has been delivered by nine consortia across the country, with each consortium comprising a lead university, and a total of 62 partner universities in England.
More information on the South East consortium, of which Southampton is an active member, along with links to a number of resources and activities in a number of languages can be found on the Routes into Languages website .
The initial phases of the programme were funded from 2006-2016 by the government.
The programme is now part of Universities UK’s ‘Go International’ project . Work on a new business plan is under way to secure the future of the successful networks and activities developed by Routes into Languages.
