Ms Jiaoyue Chen is a Postgraduate Research Student within Modern Languages and Linguistics at the University of Southampton.

After completing a BA in English in China, I took an MA in Applied Linguistics for language teaching and learning, University of Southampton, in 2011. Since 2011 I have been studying for PhD in Applied Linguistics under the supervision of Dr Julia Hüttner.

Research interests

My research interests focus on second language learning, second language writing and formulaic language. I am currently working on PhD thesis which explores formulaic language in foreign language writing.
