My name is Ouacila Ait Eldjoudi. I am a Ph.D student at the University of Southampton. I hold a Bacheor and a Master degree in an Algerian University, Abderahmane Mira Bejaia with a first class Honours. In my BA, I wrote a teacher training report on my experience as a pre-service teacher in an Algerian Middle school, Chikhoune Bejaia. My previous Master dissertation was about communication strategies and Higher education EFL learners' speaking anxiety.  I am currently a Ph.D student at the university of Southampton. I am working on gender construction within and beyond the EFL textbooks.

My research interests are mostly on language learning and teaching, gender representation in EFL textbooks, technology learning aids and their integration to classrooms. I am also interested on the psychology of pedagogy such as motivation. I have seven years of experience teaching different subjects such as English, science, Math, history and Physics to children from the age of 7-10 and adolescents aged between 10-18 years old. was a one to one teacher for children back in my country for about seven years.

PhD research

Gender construction within and beyond English as a foreign language textbook, using critical discourse analysis” supervised by Dr. Aude Campmas, French lecturer at the university of Southampton.

An associated researcher in a project about “the perceptions of EAP Pre-sessional tutors on the new online platform delivery and its effects on their teaching practices”.
