An elearning research and development group within Modern Languages involved in the delivery of elearning (online courses and resources),and research and development projects involving new technologies.

Group Overview

Research activities include:

design and development of online learning resources in study skills for use in online resource sets (toolkits). Available for licence.
design and development of online open learning resources. Available for educational purposes.
design and development of blended learning options and online courses (online Pre-sessional Course in EAP; online MA in ELT)
co-design and development of the LOC authoring tool for teachers
involved in design and development of OERs (open educational resources) and repositories for storing, sharing and retrieving teaching and learning resources
design and development of 3D virtual world environments (e.g. Second Life) for language learning and teaching purposes through integration with online and face-to-face courses
investigation of the affordances of new technologies in educational contexts
