Visits & Open Days

Attending a University Open Day is a great opportunity to see the campus and find out what it’s really like to live and study here. You'll be able to see our state-of-the-art student facilities and learn more about the subject area you're interested in.

Our next University Open Days

Can't make an Open Day? There are other ways to visit, for example by attending a campus tour or using our Virtual Open Day.

Open day

When you apply to Southampton we will invite you to one of our Humanities visit days. This may be before or after we make you an offer through UCAS, depending on your subject of choice. We will send you more information after we receive your application.

Why come to a Visit Day?

You may have already visited us at one of our Open Days and perhaps wondering whether you should still attend. Visit Days are a great opportunity for applicants to see the Faculty of Humanities in more detail, and get a real feel for student life.

As well as tours of the campus led by one of our current students, you will also meet with the Admissions Tutor and other academic members of staff from the Department, who will explain in more detail about the structure of your degree programme. You will also have an opportunity to hear a lecture on a topic relevant to your degree programme, giving you a taste of what it will be like as a student here.

Also included in your day is a talk delivered by one of our current students, who will tell you about student life at the University of Southampton. Here, you will find out about the cost of tuition fees and any scholarships and bursaries available; the large variety and cost of accommodation on offer, the University’s numerous clubs and societies and the city of Southampton.

Throughout your day, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to speak with current students, academic members of staff and members of the Recruitment and Admissions team, who will be able to answer any questions you may have about studying with us.
