Ffion Spooner BA French and Spanish 2013

Hi, I'm Ffion Spooner and I studied BA French and Spanish within Humanities at the University of Southampton.

The teaching here has been great. Especially in languages, if I've ever had a problem I've always been able to ask someone and no matter what the issue they've always gone out of their way to help.

Why did you come to study in Southampton?

It was the Open Day that made up my mind.
I came to the Open Day and I loved the atmosphere. They emphasised the pastoral care which they didn’t really do elsewhere, and that won me over.

What have been your highlights of your time here?

My biggest highlight was my year abroad in Cancun, Mexico.  I would never have had the guts to do it on my own, but knowing that Southampton was there to support me meant I had the confidence to go.

What are your ambitions for the future?

I'm thinking about teaching but I don't want to rush into it, so I'm aiming to spend 3-4 years getting more experience in a variety of work places before I really look into it.

What do you think about the teaching you received?
