Carys is a Senior Teaching Fellow based in Southampton Education School.
She is Associate Programme Lead for the PGCE Secondary Programmes, leading Partnership and a tutor for the PGCE Secondary Science courses within the Southampton Education School Initial Teacher Education Programmes.
Carys is an Associate Programme Lead for the BSc Education and Programme Lead for the BSc Education and Psychology programme. She is also Senior Tutor for Undergraduates in the Southampton Education School.
Carys teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes, supervises MSc dissertations and is involved with research projects within the Education School.

Carys currently teaches on the PGCE Secondary Science programme, BSc Education, BSc Education and Psychology and the Army PGCE (Professional Development) programme. Her areas of teaching are science education, special education needs (SEN) and knowledge exchange in education.

Biography
Carys is an Associate Programme Lead for the PGCE Secondary Programmes, leading on Partnership, Programme Lead for the BSc Education and Psychology, Associate Programme Lead for the BSc Education and Undergraduate Senior Tutor in the Southamption Education School.
Carys joined the Southampton Education School in 2014, following a career in Secondary School education which included teaching in a range of very different secondary schools and as a Head of Science. Her initial role in the Education School was working on external contracts to develop and deliver professional development for qualified teachers across the South of England to improve science education provision in the region. This led to delivering biology subject knowledge sessions on the PGCE science programme and then becoming a PGCE Tutor and taking on leadership roles within the Southampton Education School across different programmes.
