Thinking, Talking, Doing Science

TDTS logo

The Mathematics and Science Learning Centre, University of Southampton is working with Science Oxford and Oxford Brookes University to run the exciting and highly prestigious Thinking, Doing, Talking Science (TDTS) during 2016-18. This fully-funded CPD has been shown to significantly improve pupils’ attainment in and attitudes towards science, as well as increasing teachers’ confidence in the subject and their enjoyment of teaching it. This opportunity is part of an Education Endowment Foundation project and will be independently evaluated.

The programme is for Year 5 teachers and will focus on creative, practical and challenging science lessons that enable pupils to use higher order thinking skills. In addition to free CPD, participating schools will receive £200 worth of science equipment and a grant of at least £400 (depending on the number of Year 5 teachers).

Further details can be downloaded through the TDTS brochure and short information sheet below.

We are delighted to announce that this project is now fully subscribed. We will be reporting further news as the project develops, so please check back for updates.
