Chopin Lessons by David Owen Norris for BBC3

Published: 10 May 2008

BBC Radio 3's Chopin Experience on 17 and 18 May will feature every note Chopin wrote, alongside discussions and contributions from a wide range of pianists, fans and experts. In the run-up to the celebrations Southampton's Head of Keyboard performance, Professor David Owen Norris, has recorded three tutorials on Chopin's piano music for the Radio 3 website. The first demonstrates how modern pianos differ from those Chopin would have been writing for, and in the second and third tutorials David provides insights into playing Chopin's Prelude in A, Op. 28 no. 7, and his Mazurka in B flat, Op. 7 no 1.
