University Orchestras Gear Up for Summer Tour
Two of Southampton University’s leading ensembles, the Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonietta, are joining forces for the first time for a tour to the Czech Republic in August.
As separate orchestras they have toured to almost every major European country, most recently to new EU member state Bulgaria. This August they travel together to the Czech Republic, for concerts including Brahms’ 1st Symphony and Bizet’s Carmen Suite. The tour highlight will be the final performance at the prestigious Rudolfinum concert hall in central Prague. The orchestra’s pre-tour concert will take place on Wednesday 30th July at 7.30pm at the Turner Sims Concert Hall at the University of Southampton. For tickets, call the Turner Sims on 023 8059 5151.
