BMIC Premiere for Southampton Composer
The BMIC's Cutting Edge series will feature the premiere of Southampton staff member John Habron's Amor es rey on 27 November
The piece takes its title from a sonnet by Spanish poet Francisco de Quevedo y Villegas. The concert, by new music ensemble kürbis, will be directed by the group's co-founder James Weeks (Southampton PhD 2005), and features further world premieres of works by Weeks and Christopher Fox, as well as performances of John Habron's Tom and Kate and the eponymous Kürbis by co-founder Claudia Molitor (Southampton PhD 2004). The concert takes place at The Warehouse, 13 Theed St London, SE1 8ST at 19:30.
