New Finnissy and Grieg Premieres
The Frank Piano Quintet performed two new works at St John's Smith Square on Tuesday 1 November 2008.
Grieg's Piano Quintet, left incomplete at his death, has been completed by Southampton's Professor of Composition, Michael Finnissy, and received its world premiere alongside Finnissy's new Quintettsatz. The programme also included Schumann's Piano Quintet and a pre-concert talk by Finnissy and members of the Franke Quintet (including Southampton's Head of Strings, Paul Cox).
