BBC Election theme
Voters throughout the UK listened to music from Southampton as the 2010 election results came in on 6 May.
Music's Lecturer in Composition Dr Andrew Fisher orchestrated the theme music for the BBC’s 2010 General Election programmes, written by Richard Blair Oliphant. The music was recorded at the Angel studios in London, performed by the BBC concert orchestra, and used for BBC coverage of the election and its aftermath.
