Festival of Song

The Festival of Song, organised by the Music Department of the University of Southampton, took place on Sunday 28 April from 13:00 to 00:00 in Turner Sims Concert Hall and Talking Heads and featured Southampton’s finest music acts.

An amazing total of 66 students took to the stage and performed their own exciting music, ranging from singer songwriter to big band and heavy metal. The event was launched in Turner Sims by Sir Richard Stilgoe who gave a masterclass on songwriting open to all, and shared the stage with four acts showcasing their new works.

Performers: Charlie and Hayley, Olly Lewis, Charissa, Kayleigh Ramchand, Ben Parrish, Keiran Delmont, Sam Smith, Alun Elliott-Williams Quartet, Will Jenkins Quartet, Sea Slugs, the Dancing Shoes, Corolla, the JD Quartet, Keir Robinson, Innogen, Diaspora, Winter Divine, Talllon.
