Work by Dr Ben Oliver Selected for the Mise-en Festival 2018

A piece composed by Dr Ben Oliver has been selected for the Mise-en Festival in New York in June 2018.

Comprised of talented young musicians, Ensemble Mise-en is a New York-based contemporary music collective led by composer Moon Young Ha.

Since its inception in 2011, the ensemble has promoted large-scale, dynamic performances of contemporary music featuring the works of established and budding composers. The ensemble’s music festival has presented more than 150 works selected from an international call for scores that has elicited more than 5000 submissions since 2014.

This year 26 scores, including Dr Oliver's Mr Turquoise Synth, were selected from 576 submissions from around the world.

The final list of selected pieces also includes work by Southampton PhD graduate George Holloway.
