Event details

Student ensembles from the University of Southampton Music Department perform their first recitals of the year, examined as part of their undergraduate studies. Admission is free and open to the public.

Felix Mendelssohn: String Quartet in A minor, Op. 13 (1827)

Completed shortly after Beethoven's death and heavily influenced by his late string quartets, Mendelssohn's Op. 13 is a highly dramatic work which solidifies a variety of Romantic styles used in his later music. The Garrodus Quartet are a final year ensemble, joined this year by new 'cellist Oli Howell.
