Event details

Postgraduate composers and staff will convene for a two-day session with guests composer Tansy Davies and percussionist Haakon Stene, who will perform new student works.

The morning sessions of the event will consist of composition lessons, presentations and group discussions, and the afternoons will feature workshops of new pieces.

Håkon Stene is a Norwegian percussionist specializing in contemporary music performance. In addition to performing in a variety of contexts throughout Europe, he is currently involved in artistic research and teaching at the Norwegian Academy of Music.

Tansy Davies’s work has been performed by the London Sinfonietta, LSO, London Mozart Players, BCMG, Oslo Sinfonietta, English Chamber Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, Asko Schönberg and she is currently working on an opera, inspired by the events of 9/11, to be premiered by English National Opera in the 2014/15 season.
