Postgraduate composers and staff will convene for a three-day session with a trio of guest musicians from the ManaMA programme in Brussels and guest composer James Saunders.
The morning sessions of the event will consist of presentations and group discussions, and the afternoons will feature workshops of new pieces written specifically for the trio.
2015/16 sees the third year of a relationship between the music department at Southampton and ManaMa, which is an advanced masters programme for performers run by two Belgian ensembles, Ictus and Spectra, alongside Ghent Conservatory.
