Event details

We're delighted to welcome back Ensemble DeNOTE to perform a Mozart quintet and offer workshops with our students.

Ensemble DeNOTE's performances bring novel perspectives to classical era chamber music (c.1750-1820), combining the soundworld of period instruments and playing techniques with a bold expressive approach that goes beyond the notated texts into the world of creative improvisation.

For today’s performance, they will be offering a period-instrument performance of Mozart’s Gran’ Partita, K.361, in a rarely-heard arrangement for quintet made in 1805 by C.F.G. Schwencke

Ensemble DeNOTE
Peter Hanson (violin)
Oliver Wilson (viola)
Ruth Alford (cello)
Jane Booth (clarinet)
John Irving (fortepiano)
